- Providing communication support, including drafting the councilmember’s newsletter, handling responses to constituents, as well as writing memos, press releases, proclamations, and letters of congratulations.
• Writing councilmember’s monthly newsletter;
• Writing press releases;
• Writing talking points for councilmember;
• Writing proclamations;
• Pitching local media;
• Drafting responses to constituents’ emails about a variety of issues;
• Drafting and printing congratulations letters for boards and commissions;
• Coordinating with council’s communications team on councilmember's participation in media
briefings;
• Organizing/batching emails that come into councilmember’s email box;
• Assisting other staff members with reading and summarizing reports;
• Planning town halls for seniors;
• Staffing councilmember at events;
• Taking photographs at events;
• Writing summaries about press briefings;
• Staffing councilmember at community events; and
• Participating in team meetings.
